COFFEE WITH CLOSERS - Ending Veteran Suicide: A Conversation with Mission Roll Call’s Cole Lyle

“there's not a lot that's stronger than the heart of a volunteer, which is why the American military is so good. We tend to treat our people better and pay them more than militaries across the world. But if people don't believe that they're going to be taken care of while they're on active duty and mothers and fathers don't believe that their sons and daughters are going to be taken care of when they get off active duty, they're not going to support them joining the military.”

Executive Director, Cole Lyle recently joined the #CoffeeWithClosers podcast to discuss the state of veteran affairs in the U.S. and how Mission Roll Call is making a real difference for veterans today!

I don't know why the VA treats veterans so badly. I've seen veterans with 100 percent disability that look like they shouldn't be on disability. I've seen veterans that have no disability that should be. I've had tried and I'm told I'm not authorized any disability by VA even though I even went to Desert Storm. It's very depressing. I remember why I tell my wife if an emergency, please don't take me to any VA hospital. So I say take VA and God willing help those veterans that came back from the war disabled. Not because of 50 percent disability for having sleep apnea.
