Navajo Veterans Share The Challenges They Face
Updated: Jul 27, 2022
"I want to tell everyone we're here, we're just like everyone else, and we don't want to be left behind. They always say 'no soldiers left behind,' don't forget about me, don't forget about my sisters who served also." — Mary Ann Bullhead, Operation Iraqi Freedom, US Army and US Navy
Early in 2021, the MRC team was invited to meet with women veterans in Navajo Nation. It's an honor to have the opportunity to share their stories. Please listen to what they have to say, as we believe it resonates with many veterans.
Rural veterans face unique challenges compared to non-rural veterans. One of the biggest challenges they face is access to the benefits and healthcare they earned through their service. Mission Roll Call works to bring attention to these issues—especially for underserved veterans—directly to policymakers. With your support, we can continue our efforts to fight for veterans and their families. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today.
